weekend hangover.

happy monday.
today marks the first day of spring semester for me.
i'm a little excited, anxious and already stressed at what's to come-
{meaning the homework, making room to study and an amplifying the word busy in my life}
but for now, it's still a happy monday.

our weekend was a lovely one.
a busy one indeed, but that's nothing new-
tons of rehearsal for me, a much needed dinner date night- just us two,
a gossip girl marathon {should we be ashamed? good, because we're not.},
a little church, hung out with some of our favorite friends,
downton abbey- of course {yes, i'm still crying over sybil.},
and some very anticipated play time with mowgli.

how was your weekend?
tell me something good.

meanwhile, february is quickly approaching.
i'm feeling the need 'heart attack' my house.
i'm beginning to brainstorm which diy/crafts i'm wanting to tackle.
do you have any suggestions?
i have one in mind- which, i'm hoping to share with you later this week.
so, please stay in touch, so we can share projects.

since monday is typically a long and dreaded day,
 i better say it one last time...
happy monday.
let's make the most of today.
xoxo

p.s. i'm well aware that my legs need to see the sun.
although- a sun tan, mid season for a ballerina, is a big "don't you dare".
so please, bear with me.
come may, my legs and the sun will have a joyous reunion.

date night.

you know it's going to be a good week
when date night falls on a tuesday.
a date night in the middle of the week?
that's unheard of over here, in our neck of the woods.
{we have my late night rehearsals to thank for that one.}
canceled rehearsal for me + no homework for lovebird + a tuesday night =
a very rare occasion and the perfect excuse to have a date night out.
we headed to the theater to see the
{directed by rasta thomas}
holy cow... amazing! i seriously loved every second of it.
from there dancing, expressions, stamina, six packs {or rather 12 packs},
talent, artistry, diversity and energy---
i was blown away.
being a dancer myself, i can be very critical without even trying.
but, tonight- i thoroughly enjoyed myself, all critiques left at the door.
when i asked lovebird to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10,
he gave them a solid ten.
take his opinion or leave it- but, i'd say he's quite experienced in the dance world, now.
or at least i like to think that i've taught him well.

we had a lovely night out- if only i could go see it again tomorrow.
i'll take any excuse i get, to throw on a dress, fur scarf and put feathers in my hair.
besides, it's always nice to be in the audience watching for a change.
as much as i love being the performer,
it's always good to be the observer every once and awhile.
i'm completely inspired at the moment.

so, here's to having an inspiring wednesday!

seconds, please?

we had a weekend full of nothing but food.
or rather little food dates.
{what!? this never happens}
friday was my the last day of spring break for me,
and lovebird's school just so happen to have the day off, thanks to "pacific day".
so... we took advantage of that free time we never seem to have and
 drove to a nearby town to grab a bite. a yummy bite.
saturday came way to quickly.
but we embraced it again with a little dinner date.
{that didn't feel so little after eating one too many breadsticks}
since that didn't seem to be enough, we took it one step further-
and went on a second dinner date out of town with some lovely friends.
don't worry. we didn't eat a second dinner.
we just shared a scrumptious dessert.
then sunday came way to quickly.
since we don't go out on sundays, {this is why}
we stayed in a for a yummy home cooked dinner date.
which of course ended with 'just a taste' of our favorite gelato.
you can't go wrong when dates revolve around food.
especially when they end with dessert.
or maybe that's just my opinion, since i seem to have an odd love for food.

i'm hoping your weekend was full of delicious dinner dates.
if so, do share with me.
i'd love to hear what you had on your plate this weekend.
{pun intended, or course}
xoxo

p.s. did you enter the giveaway below!?

movie must see

just go with it.
period. you've got to see it.
lovebird and i laughed big belly laughs.
a perfect chick flick and comedy. great for a duo.
so go on a date with your hubby, your dinner date, your boyfriend
or for heavens sakes.... just go by yourself.
it's well worth the expensive price movies are these days.

p.s. jennifer aniston is drop dead gorgeous.
or as lovebird said..."she's so wholesome".
and who doesn't want to be perfectly well rounded (aka: wholesome)
on top of being insanely beautiful?
can i please be her? now?

second saturday

who: the lovebirds
what: "second saturday"
where: sacramento {old sac, downtown}
when: september 11, 2010
why: desperate need of a fun date

sacramento hosts a fun filled night every second saturday of the month.  the streets of downtown come to life with vendors, boutiques, art shows/museums, tons of people, free food, dancing, music and more. the purpose? to boost the economy, advertise companies and to pull together the people of sac.

we decided it was time for an adventure, given the fact i had the day off of dance.
that never happens. we took advantage of that, and raced over to sac.
it was a lovely day and evening.
so much to do, see and say about our night.

best part?
(well one of them, anyway)
I got these adorable shoes for $9 at a vintage clothing store.

love them to pieces.

we shared a gooey peanut butter, nutella and banana crepe.
devoured a delicious fuji salad
and walked until our feet ached.

lovely night, to say the least.
lovebird is a handsome date. sure lucky to have him.
