shadow.

me and my shadow.
{literally, though.}
mowgli has been thriving for attention lately,
which boggles my mind, because i feel that sometimes i give him too much attention.
i'm that much in love with him.
in fact, sometimes often i don't get chores/errands done,
because i turn the corner and look behind me, to find him
following my every footstep.
those puppy eyes lure me in- i can't refuse his offer to cuddle or play.
so i play.
we go on outings, walks and to the dog park-
all while my house continues to collect dust.
however, i'm beginning to not mind-
because i'd rather have a little shadow for a best friend,
then a house with dirty bathrooms and dusty shelves.

cheers to mowgli, shadows and companionship.

one month.

dear: one month...
-it's takes one month to form a habit- and only three days to break one.
-just over a month from now, i'll finally be able to chitchat with a missionary.
{aka: brother and best friend}
-over 800 million users visit youtube each month.
 {no, i'm not making that up; fact found here.}
-one month from now i'll be on stage gearing up for the nutcracker performances.
-i paint my nails at least three times each month. {i'm not embarrassed by it either.}
-there are just over 43,829 minutes in one month.
-i knew i was smitten and in love with lovebird just after a month of dating.
-one month ago we became a family of three....
mowgli has given us a month of complete bliss;
full of puppy kisses, loves, and an extra dose of patience.
it will be one month i will always remember.

cheers to all good things that happen in one month.
can you name any?

there's someone i'd like you to meet.

hello world.
today is a big day; or rather today has a big announcement.
we've {finally} settled on a name for our little pup.
drum roll please.... world, meet:
mowgli.
mowgli stice, that is.
{current nickname: mowgs}

we are well aware that it took us almost three weeks to name him,
but, better late than never, right?
i'm not exactly sure how mowgli came about-
yes, the name mowgli comes from the little boy in "the jungle book"-
but, he wasn't necessarily named after him for any particular reason.
we simply liked the name.
i can't begin to tell you how many names we came up with for our little guy.
name, after name, after name;
none of which instantly fit his puppy cuteness, yet regal aura.
until, "mowgli" suddenly seemed to be the perfect fit.
so, there you have it.
as much as we hated the ongoing search for the perfect name,
we couldn't be more in love with his name- well, mostly just him in general.

happy monday!
cheers to a new week, puppy kisses and a successful weekend.

puppy lovin'.

four words: we are in love.
yes, completely infatuated with him.
he's been a perfect puppy so far;
meaning, not a single {potty} accident in the house-
and only one rough night full of whining.
{but, that is to be expected from a puppy who just left his mom.}
i keep pinching myself making sure i'm living in reality.
i'm shocked that lovebird caved into letting us get a puppy
and i feel spoiled by what a awesome little guy we ended up with.

unfortunately, he remains without a name.
can you believe that?
we are having the hardest time picking the perfect name for this little fellow.
a name is a big deal- even bigger than i thought.
 to this, my mom said to me, "just wait until you have kids."
i can only imagine.

we are open to any suggestions-
in fact, i'm curious to hear what you think we should name him.
of course, we will pick out a name we love and adore-
but, a little name game never hurts anyone, right?

and i promise... we will have a name by tomorrow.
i'm mainly making this promise to myself, my husband and my puppy.
i'm kicking myself for being so indecisive right now.

happy monday.
cheers to puppies, weekends and dinner with friends.

drum roll, please.....

just like that.... we became a family of three.
obviously, we are elated and totally in love.
he's stolen both of our hearts already.
i'd reveal his name... but, i think i'll wait until monday to do that.
{we are pretty sure we've picked it, but we'll make our final decision this weekend.}
as a side note for our future little ones {as in kids, not pups} to read:
this is a big day in the history of the stice's.
lovebird agreeing to a dog is a big deal;
just ask anyone who knows him.
i knew i could soften lovebird's heart and convince him that we "needed" one.
however, i'm not sure i did the convincing.
i think our new pup convinced him in just the last 24 hours.
our pup has lovebird wrapped around his little finger paw.
we're happy he is ours to keep forever.
we can't wait for all the future adventures and memories with this little guy.

happy friday, indeed.
plans for the weekend...?
nothing but playing with our new pup.
i mean just look at that face,
how could we not?

hope your weekend is lovely as well.
your always welcome to come over and play with us.
just bring a doggy treat, and i'm sure our pup will invite you right in.

puppy, pretty please?

if only i could convince lovebird of this...
why do i want a puppy so badly?
i have always had a dog in my life... until i married lovebird.
{he's a real stinker.}
anyone have any tricks in convincing husbands that homes need a dog?
{more like i need a dog. but, still.}
lovebirds isn't as bad as i'm making him out to be-
he just had a rough go with dogs growing up and is somewhat scared.
slowly but surely, i'm erasing that scar of his.
he's now considering one breed.
{and that one breed only}
which, seems to be impossible to find anywhere near us.
however, my fingers remain crossed for lovebird to wake up one day and say,
"we need a dog."
and to that, i'll say, "finally!!"

lovebirds conditions in getting a dog:
{these are not a joke, he is dead serious.}
1. the dog will be groomed once every two weeks, and bathed weekly.
2. the dog must be a boy.
3. the dog will not step foot on our couches.
4. the dog will not be fed human food.
5. the dog won't be allowed to sleep in our bed.
6. lastly, the dog will never jump up on guests.

obviously, these all stem from bad experiences and memories.
but, who's to say a cute little puppy can't change his mind
and exceed his expectations?

i have my work cut out for me in convincing him.
but, i have no doubt that once i do-
he'll fall completely in love with our dog and they'll be best friends.
after all, a dog is a man's best friend.

i have a feeling i'm already preaching to the choir on this topic,
but please cross your fingers that lovebird joins this choir... and soon!

happy weekend!
enjoy walking and playing with your pups!
i am beyond jealous.
