springtime sickness

spring has brought me such a nice surprise,

popcorn popping right before my eyes...

and it also managed to bring me a

big fat cold. 

yep, i'm stuck in bed. 

sniffling, sneezing and sleeping. 

i think getting sick in spring and summer months should be off limits. 

sickness is for cold months;

months that involve sweaters, soups and scarfs.

so, as lovebird takes his last two finals today-

i patiently wait for him to come home, 

so he can snuggle this cold right out of me.

i have a busy week ahead, not to mention important one too.

i need this sickness to disappear a-sap.

any suggestions, tips or home remedies? 

meanwhile, i'll witness spring bloom from my bedroom window.

i suppose, that is the one perk of being sick in the nice weather-

life outside, is exciting to observe.

out with the cold, in with the heat.

this quote perfectly sums up the days around here right now.

spring is trying take the place of winter, who is lingering as long as he can.

it is simply gorgeous outside.

days at the park, long walks for frozen yogurt, short sleeves...

these things have already begun-
thanks to the sun who is shining for all it's worth.

not to mention, a tiny sunburn who has already appeared on my too-pale skin.

when the weather is good, life is good.

how can it not be, when you wake up to a promising day of sunshine?
the gloom of winter is saying goodbye,
i couldn't be more excited for spring's grand entrance and big hello.

did spring bring an extra amount of busyness to anyone else?

i feel like i am treading to keep my head above water.

i have "to-do lists" coming out of every pocket, purse and calendar.

i have chores piling up due to lack of being able to get them done.

homework is stacking up by the minute.

rehearsals at dance are never-ending. we are in crunch time.

spring is busy.

are you with me?

i am suddenly learning to manage my time differently.

i'm discovering what needs to be my priority rather than 

choosing what i think should be a priority.

i'm accepting the fact that i have to let go of being a perfectionist

in order to get everything done.

{i struggle with this one}

i'm watching time pass as if it never happened;

where do all the hours of the day go?

but through all of this busyness,

i am taking time to smell the flowers, quite literally.

it is a gorgeous time of year in it's entirety. 

the hustle and bustle of spring time paired with
the breathtaking beauty of nature. 

spring is beautiful even when busy.

and that is something i need to be reminded of as i feel busyness overcome me.

spring is such a beautiful season, that is over in the blink of an eye.

 let's embrace it's beauty.

even if that means embracing the busyness of it too.

the color green.

obviously, i'm still in the st. patty's day mood, 

and i'm sporting my green.

then again, it is spring.

to me, the color green represents spring.

it's when the trees are staring to portray there deepest and healthiest shade.

it's when the fresh green grass comes out from it's winter nap.

it's when you can spot four leaf clovers if you look close enough.

it's when you look up to find the mountains 

blanketed with green, instead of white snow.

it's when the rain makes you nearly taste the intense shade of green.

it's when the hills in this valley are so green,

you for a split second, feel like you driving through europe instead.

or it's when you realize that green is the color of life;

and that you are living in a beautifully created earth.

springtime is a lovely time.

and i couldn't be embracing the sunshine more than i am today.

i hope you have a little piece of green on today.

well, now you can see i simply have spring fever.

alright folks...

i've got spring fever. 

in a good way, of course.

i am craving spring fashion, healthy food and days at the pool.

for starters, i want these two items. badly. 

white jeans and nude pumps.

and the list goes on. {drum roll please....}

new curling iron. a big "fat" one.

a few fresh nail polish colors. pastel please.

speaking of which, i'm dying to get my nails done.

this lip gloss.

i'm on a craze for eating salads right now.

bring on the green leafs!

{this is so not like me.}

more shoes.... wedges to be specific. 

a new crisp white shirt. 

leotards. any color will do.

and a hair cut. again.

oh how i love spring.

these are just a few of the many items i want.

thank goodness for birthdays.

warming obsession

dear sunshine:
you have been so incredible these last few days. my skin is already thanking you. the air is heavenly fresh and the blue skies have come out from hiding. even though you aren't as hot as you are in the summer, i appreciate the little warmth you have given us. it is making me crave things; like swimming, bbq's, neon painted finger nails and vacations. but most of all, you have got me on a craze for planting flower boxes. i can hardly wait to get going on this little project. forget the garden this spring. i am going all out in "decorating" our little balcony with gorgeous flowers planted in adorable boxes.
