adjusting.

friday is here at last.
it's been a long week. i repeat, a long one.
i think i'm still adjusting to lovebird's new school schedule
{aka: him being gone quite a bit}
and to this baby bump that seems to be growing rather quickly.

being pregnant is a beautiful thing.
emotions are extreme.
stares, comments, looks and questions from strangers are unexpected.
i like it, though.
baby shopping is out of this world.
i thought i had a shopping addiction when it came to my clothes;
i'm telling you right now, this baby of ours will be a spoiled one.
cravings are realer than real.
{cheeseburgers, pancakes, fruit and bran muffins are the recent ones.}
change takes on a new dimension;
both physically and mentally.
anticipation is at a peak, which makes for an exciting life.
adjusting is a key word lately;
adjusting to a new life style, a changing body, a new schedule,
a new 'profession', a new chapter and the list goes on....

most of all, i'm so thankful to have lovebird to share it all with.
even if he is gone rather often for school.
both baby and i are cheering him on; graduation is oh so close.
we are happy over here that it is friday, the weekend is upon us
and that we get to spend it in our very own home.

have a happy friday.

weekend hangover.

happy monday.
today marks the first day of spring semester for me.
i'm a little excited, anxious and already stressed at what's to come-
{meaning the homework, making room to study and an amplifying the word busy in my life}
but for now, it's still a happy monday.

our weekend was a lovely one.
a busy one indeed, but that's nothing new-
tons of rehearsal for me, a much needed dinner date night- just us two,
a gossip girl marathon {should we be ashamed? good, because we're not.},
a little church, hung out with some of our favorite friends,
downton abbey- of course {yes, i'm still crying over sybil.},
and some very anticipated play time with mowgli.

how was your weekend?
tell me something good.

meanwhile, february is quickly approaching.
i'm feeling the need 'heart attack' my house.
i'm beginning to brainstorm which diy/crafts i'm wanting to tackle.
do you have any suggestions?
i have one in mind- which, i'm hoping to share with you later this week.
so, please stay in touch, so we can share projects.

since monday is typically a long and dreaded day,
 i better say it one last time...
happy monday.
let's make the most of today.
xoxo

p.s. i'm well aware that my legs need to see the sun.
although- a sun tan, mid season for a ballerina, is a big "don't you dare".
so please, bear with me.
come may, my legs and the sun will have a joyous reunion.

weekend in ten.

our weekend in ten simple sentences:
1. work hard, play hard.
{school and dance all day and night friday, lead to lots of playing.}
2. it's never to late to start new lifelong friendships.
{go ahead and meet them yourself; here and here.}
3. a slice of pie + five scoops of ice cream = a heavenly pie milk shake.
{must go to chile pies. the make one delicious, totally scrumptious, dessert.}
4. a weekend getaway to "our" city, san francisco.
5. a little hooked to watching a thing called, gossip girl.
that's not the issue, it's staying up into the wee hours of the night to do so.
6. leaving your dog at a "day care" for the first time is ruff. yikes.
7. wonderful visits with two of my best friends in life.
{who both ironically live is san francisco now.}
8. food is a big part of my life. in a good way; i love to eat.
{we ate dinner here. great pizza if you're in the city!}
9. lovebird is a sucker for bubble tea. boba, in particular.
10. i fell in love all over again.
i'm smitten, i tell you.

hope you had a lovely weekend yourself.
what are a few weekend items on your list of ten?
i'm hoping to have a full week of blogging- wish me luck.
i've got to get back in the swing of things-
my life journal here on the blog, has been neglected-
 plus, i feel so out of the loop on all of your darling blogs.
{it looks like i have my writing and reading cut out for me this week.}
i'm anxious to click through to your blogs- leave a comment below and
let's quickly get reacquainted. xoxo.

p.s. happy martin luther king day.
hope you are a lucky one who gets work off; if so, enjoy!

picture of the week.

this picture sums up this week perfectly:
-there's always time for puppy snuggles, now matter how busy one might be.
-my hair managed to master one hairstyle this week: the effortless and messy topknot.
-no makeup besides a bold lip color is an easy go to look. {this lipstick in "so chaud"}
-wearing glasses is mandatory when you have to stare at text books all day long.
-the puppy mom in me wants to cry, because mowgli is growing up too fast.
-scarfs make everything better, including your outfit.
-our dog is camera shy. proof above, as well as in every other photo we take of him.

i'm hoping you've all had a lovely week.
thank goodness the weekend is here, right?
i plan on rehearsing, studying and preparing for our guests to arrive next week.
i'm certain your plans are far more exciting than mine... so, please share.
cheers to it being friday.
also, cheers to all the cups of eggnog that have gotten me through the week.

xoxo

it's finally friday, folks.

it is finally here.
"it" being friday.

you know you're in trouble when you wake up thinking it's friday
and then suddenly, your heart is shattered to pieces, when you find out it's only wednesday.
double whammy, if you ask me.
this week has managed to drag on a little too long for my liking.
needless to say, i'm thrilled today is finally here.
can i get an, "oh yeah!"?

i'm hoping you have grand plans for the last weekend in september.
unfortunately, due to lovebird and i being miles apart {at the moment},
my weekend will consist of:
 cleaning and then decorating our home.
performing, or rather rock and rolling.
reading, homework and studying.
oh, and patiently awaiting lovebird's arrival back home,
because i know it will be accompanied by hugs and kisses that smell of a camp fire.
{yes, i secretly love that smell.}
that's another "oh yeah" in my books.

happy weekend!
p.s. can you believe monday is october first already?
time flies, i tell you.

far far away.

what a weekend.
a long, drawn out, lazy weekend.
lazy, because we intended it to be that way.
my body felt like it went through the ringer this week, {thank you, ballet}
and i was craving some much needed down time with lovebird.
we almost spent every waking moment together,
minus lovebird's hours at work.
it's in those moments when you realize that
doing nothing with the one you love is far better than anything else.
it's as if you drift off into this land that seems to only exist rarely, due to
the perplexity of life's busy schedule.
however, when you do drift off...
it's complete bliss.
lovebird and i managed to have a weekend of that complete bliss;
which included puppy shopping, barnes and nobel reading, lunch dates,
cuddles sessions, a tasty sunday dinner, back tickles and a long nap time.
sometimes i wish i could just permanently move to this far off land;
but, then i remember that reality is a good thing-
being busy is a good thing;
hardly seeing lovebird during the week can even be a good thing,
and running place to place, from thing to thing can be a good things too...
because it's when life grants you those moments
of nothingness with the one you love,
it's then, and only then, you truly appreciate that land of far off bliss.
our weekend was blissful.
we "flew" back from this far off land last night and hit the
ground running with another full week of business ahead!
the thrills of life are endless;
and thank goodness those moment of bliss are infinite too.
the secret is:
to embrace them when you get the chance.

how was your weekend!?

i'm in shock.

i'm so sorry for the small hiatus.
i suppose that happens when life takes over all at once.
all a little too fast.
i've been busy rehearsing, performing and studying.
but, today... today i only have two hours of dance.
happy friday to me.
{this never happens}
and.... drum roll please....
i have saturday off too!
now, that never happens.
this my friends, is why i am in utter shock.

happy weekend to you.
i hope you all have lovely adventures.
our's will hopefully be spent puppy shopping,
having a date night in- watching a chick flick,
eating gelato, and catching up on some much needed sleep.
enjoy your weekend. i'll catch up with you monday.
xoxo

it's over already?

thumbs up to a new week.
the weekend has come and gone.
{believe it or not}
a fun weekend jam packed with dance, friends,
a baseball game, chocolate cake, dinner dates, church,
swimming, homework, snuggles from lovebird and late nights.

our ballet company did a little event at the baseball game this weekend.
we really had a blast.
baseball games, friends, hot dogs and tutus are a recipe for fun.
check out more pictures on instagram!
{username: eleasejane or CentralWBallet.}

how was your weekend?
tell me your instagram name below, so i can catch up on
the snapshots from your fun weekend.

lastly, can you believe september is knocking at our doors already!?
i'm in shock at how time seems to be escaping rather than just passing by.
since it's a new month and fall seems to bring on a new beginning,
 i'm looking to add some new faces {aka buttons} to my blog;
if you are interested in a swap and/or sponsorship email me at:
thelittlelovebirds.blog@gmail.com

i hope to hear from you very soon.
cheers to a new week, instagram, ballerinas at baseball games
and sharing some blog love.

five things friday.

five little things before the {big} weekend:

1. remember when i surprised lovebird at work for his birthday?
go check out the genius {and talent} behind the cake pops!
she has an adorable blog full of incredible crafts and the most delicious goodies.
and on top of that, she's one of a kind. i love her dearly.

2. we have a fun trip planned with my best friend and her hubby.
can't wait to meet them "in the middle" at lake tahoe.
say hello to a much needed trip with them, time to just chill,
and the beauty of such a gorgeous place.

3. i'm so excited to spend my birthday weekend with lovebird.
he has hidden boxes from j.crew, a weekend getaway planned in the city and
i can already tell he's spoiled me rotten.
why am i so lucky to be married to such a gem?

4. sunshine is the souls best medicine, while
a sunburn is the skin's worst nightmare.
i've experience the love and hate of both this week.
i blame the burning desire to read my book out in the sun. pun intended.
by the way, i finished my book already. loved it.
i'm not going to tell you again- read it now!

5.a few of my favorite things from this week include:
crisp and clean bed sheets, sally hansen nail strips, a morning date with
my {other} best friend, lovebird's laugh attack, yogurt mill,
the product of a clean house after slave work,
dry shampooreading, mac's new russian red lip gloss, and
complete freedom in the evenings as a result of not having rehearsal.

come one, come all.

dear friday: thank you for finally making your appearance.
i've been waiting for you all week long.
i can finally take a breather.
this week has been absolutely nuts {to say the least}!
thank goodness the weekend is here to stay for three days:
we have big plans and lots of fun in store.
starting off with this...
i'm happy to announce a lovely giveaway!
here's a little note from nicole:
Hello all! No matter what kind of day you’re having, I’m hoping this post will make it all the better! I am so excited to be posting here today! The past few years of my life have been pretty chaotic, to say the least, but I am finally starting to settle down a bit. For the last few months, I’ve been living in a small city and working an administrative desk job. It’s a great job with wonderful co-workers, but for some time I just felt a void of passion in my life. In my spare time, I started dabbling in stationary design. The more I dabbled, the more I fell head-over-heels. Designing has kicked up a spark of enthusiasm in me that I just can’t get away from, and now I have little shop to share it all with you! It’s full of wall art prints, note cards, graduation prints, birth announcements, custom designed daily planners, and more! This week, I’ll be giving 30% off to everyone who uses
this coupon code: lovebirds
Drop by and take a peek! I hope you find something that brightens your day
and makes your heart skip a little beat.
Nicole

it's oh-so simple to enter:
leave a comment below letting me know what print you are drooling over.
then, cross your fingers that you'll be the lucky one
to open your mailbox and find yourself an adorable print from cole&co designs.
{winner will be picked next friday}
ready...set...go!

seconds, please?

we had a weekend full of nothing but food.
or rather little food dates.
{what!? this never happens}
friday was my the last day of spring break for me,
and lovebird's school just so happen to have the day off, thanks to "pacific day".
so... we took advantage of that free time we never seem to have and
 drove to a nearby town to grab a bite. a yummy bite.
saturday came way to quickly.
but we embraced it again with a little dinner date.
{that didn't feel so little after eating one too many breadsticks}
since that didn't seem to be enough, we took it one step further-
and went on a second dinner date out of town with some lovely friends.
don't worry. we didn't eat a second dinner.
we just shared a scrumptious dessert.
then sunday came way to quickly.
since we don't go out on sundays, {this is why}
we stayed in a for a yummy home cooked dinner date.
which of course ended with 'just a taste' of our favorite gelato.
you can't go wrong when dates revolve around food.
especially when they end with dessert.
or maybe that's just my opinion, since i seem to have an odd love for food.

i'm hoping your weekend was full of delicious dinner dates.
if so, do share with me.
i'd love to hear what you had on your plate this weekend.
{pun intended, or course}
xoxo

p.s. did you enter the giveaway below!?

a little "midge" is coming to visit.

{adorable wreath my cute mom made and sent me for easter}

happy weekend.
{and happy spring break to me}
today is a quick post due to two things:
1. i woke up with lovebird's sickness.
2. my dear mother is flying into visit us today.
{a very last minute decision.}
can you say awesome?
what a perfect way to start spring break:
sick and in the arms of a mother. my mother.
surprisingly, i'm not joking.
this is a dream come true for me. {okay fine, minus the sick part.}
now, if i can just boot the sickness by easter that will be perfect!
please send happy and healthy thoughts my way,
as i will send them back to you.
xoxo

instagram weekend.

 happy monday.
i hope you had a lovely weekend.
we sure did.
but, once again- it just wasn't long enough.
we played a little putt putt.
{aka miniature golf}
i had a little ballet performance.
lovebird worked. however, not as mush as normal.
watched conference. so inspiring.
we ate fire balls, like we used to in the sixth grade.
saw the jelly belly truck.
{of course i had to take a picture}
and took a nice sunday drive out on the country roads.

what did you do?
i hope something fun.
xoxo

before and after.

happy weekend.
it's finally here. yippee!
i am embracing this weekend like no other.
the heavens opened up:
i don't have school or dance today.
  what!? this never happens. i mean never.
a big thanks to cesar chavez- you're the reason we don't have school.
lovebird got the night off work, which means date night! finally.
and it's conference weekend. what could be better?
nothing, i tell you.

so... lately i've been thinking about life before and after lovebird.
it's kind of strange how easily you adapt when you are instantly
immersed in the ways of someone else's life.
some or small things. and some are big.
here are the small ones:

before i met lovebird:
1. i never flossed my teeth. not once. never, i repeat.
{no cavities either! knock on wood.}
2. i showered just once a day. like a normal person.
3. i didn't eat my veggies. in fact, i hated them.
4. i drove a stick shift car.
{technically i still do}
5. i said my prayers alone at night.
6. i drank milk. and lots of it.
7. i didn't have a worry in the world about strangers.
8. living on my own was lonesome and boring.
9. i knew nothing about jewish people or bulgarians.
10. i never cracked my knuckles.

after i met lovebird:
1. i floss my teeth nightly. can't miss a night or i feel gross.
2. i shower twice a day.
because now i realize, i probably should after dancing 6 hours. whoops!
 lovebird is an insane clean freak when it comes to showering.
3. i eat more veggies than carbs {my beloved bread} now.
i crave those green things.
4. i drive his car more than my own.
"the white night". it's automatic, and i love it.
5. we say our prayers together. always.
6. we don't buy milk. period.
lovebird is lactose intolerant.
we do however, guzzle almond milk. yum.
7. i am now aware and somewhat paranoid about "strangers".
i am reminded the world isn't as safe as i dream it to be.
especially where i live.
8. life is full of companionship.
every adventure is together now matter how big or small.
9. i now love his jewish background.
and i now love the people of bulgaria as if i knew them like he does.
10. cracking my knuckles is a daily ritual.
shame on me.

i love that i've integrated his ways into my ways.
after all, what's his is mine. and what's mine is his.

hope you have a lovely weekend yourself.
and i'm curious... is there anything you do or don't do now
that you life with your prince charming?
xoxo

our {little} weekend.

happy weekend.
we've been awfully busy over.
a weekend full of dance, work, errands, homework and church.
that's a typical weekend for us.

we were just saying today, that we are in need of a "real" weekend;
the kind where you sleep in until who knows when.
you eat breakfast in bed,
not feeling rushed to go to dance or work.
one where you stay in your pj's all day until you have to
get ready for a lovely dinner date out on the town.
where you stay up way too late laughing, talking and sharing gelato.
and finally go to bed because you're eyelids are heavy;
heavy from laughter and exhaustion from play time.
okay, back to reality:
maybe we'll be lucky to have one of those weekends
once the semester and dance season is over.
our fingers are crossed. and our hopes are high.

although, our weekend was pretty rockin'
due to one small event....
the hunger games.
we absolutely loved it.
{and feel slightly awesome because we know the director.}
we've been waiting and anticipating this weekend for quite awhile.
we are so happy the movie lived up to all of our expectations.
did you race to the theater to see it too?
if not, snap to it- you must see it!
{but, please read the book first. that's a must.}
oh, and do note:
if you get motion sickness easily- don't sit too close.
lovebird had to get up and change seats half way through.
he left me by myself.
which, turned out to be a good thing.
why? because i cried my eyes out a few times-
and he always makes fun of me for being such a girl.
look who's the girl now...
he can't stand a little running through the forest.
"boom roasted"

have a lovely sunday night.
"may the odds be ever in your favor."

Friday, March 23, 2012

my little happenings.

lately i have been...
 going to bed with my hair wet.
 using clorox wipes like they are going out of style.
eating too many baked goods.
beyond eager to see the hunger games.
been chewing dentyne fire "spicy cinnamon" gum.
{this is very unusual for me. i'm a peppermint girl.}
painting my nails soft colors.
writing lots of letters to all sorts of people in all sorts of places.
factoring way to many numbers in math.
eating fage yogurt with granola for breakfast.
parting my hair down the middle.
booking flights home for summer weddings.
{yes, plural. several weddings this summer.}
talking in my sleep. or so lovebird claims.
craving chocolate covered cinnamon bears.
wearing lovebird's clothes to dance.
drinking ginger ale.
speaking bulgarian with lovebird.
{okay, rather struggling to speak it.}
dreaming of an adventure. a romantic one.
making lovely new blogging friends.
and been welcoming spring in with coral lips.

what have you been up to lately?
happy friday.
the weekend is finally here.
{i'm currently jumping for joy}

combat boots and turquoise rings.

hello to you.
and hello to another new week.
mondays seem to keep rolling around.
i just said to lovebird last night,
"isn't it strange how the days of the week go so slow,
but come every sunday night, i'm shocked that another monday
 is already knocking at our door?"
time is a mysterious element in our lives. or at least i think so.
i hope you had a lovely weekend.
we certainly did:
my first letter from little brother came in the mail.
{i literally leaped with excitement.}
we add a yummy bbq with our awesome friends.
{delicious cheeseburgers with bbq sauce. and of course i brought salt and vinegar chips.}
we went to church. that's a given.
it was ward conference- and it was a lovely day to say the least.
lovebird called me a gypsy due to the amount of turquoise rings i was wearing.
what can i say, i love turquoise. and jewelry.
i sported the combat boots with the dress.
i guess you could say, i was a feminine yet edgy gypsy.
i'll take it.
{i like to spice up life with different outfits and styles. }
i can't wait to catch up on reading your weekend posts.
 i suppose i'll do that after class, while drinking my new addiction: hansen's soda.
xoxo

miss you most of all today.

i am missing this little man today.
{okay he's not that little- he towers over me.}
but he is my little brother.
he's already been gone a whole 11 days.
missionary time goes extremely slow and quick all at the same time.
it's bizarre.
wanna know what else is bizarre?
my burning desire to move right now.
move far away, to a new place.
i'm not unhappy here. in fact, i love our little home.
but, i have this crazy want to move cities, states or even countries.
i bug lovebird with my fantasizing every day.
that's probably because i am beginning to think my dreams
of moving are going to come true.
lovebird just laughs.
he tells me i want too many things.
which, i do.
that comes with a "go-getter" personality.
although it doesn't seem soon enough,
we are bound to move in the next year or two-
due to the next chapter in our lives.
i suppose for now i'll keep dreaming.
alongside missing my little brother dearly.
happy weekend to my lovely followers.

just some ideas:
 a place like this down by the beach. {carmel, california.}
or a little romantic apartment in beautiful italy.
or i would love to live in a little old fashioned city like this.
if i could convince lovebird, we'd live in a cottage
or i'd even be happy in an upbeat crammed studio in a big city.
i clearly just want to move.

Friday, March 9, 2012

but seriously: TGIF.

oh, happy friday.
so far so good, right?
minus the parking ticket i received at school today.
that's what happens when life is too busy to realize you grabbed lovebird's
school parking pass instead of yours.
bummer.
if i'm going to be honest with you-
life has been a little rocky lately.
i've been getting parking tickets in all areas of my life.
and lovebird keeps reminding me- parking tickets are paid off and forgotten.
will these "problem" just go away and be forgotten?
will they sort themselves out?
i sure hope so.
but, without trials- we don't know happiness.
and i'm certainly happy that today is friday.
weekends always bring happiness.
mainly because i get an extra hour to sleep in with lovebird on saturday.
{sleep in, as in 8:00. it's better than nothing- i'll take it!}
bring on the weekend!
xo

Saturday, February 25, 2012

weekend on stage.

rat pack!
just a little preview of what my weekend consists of.
opening night {last night} was a big success.
one down, one to go!
can't wait to perform it all again tonight!

i wish i could stay awhile and write a big post, visit your blogs,
drink a diet coke while spending time in blog land.
{lovebird might say "wasting" time. but, what does he know.}
this weekend is just too busy for that.
but, i promise i'll be back tomorrow.
{i've got time to kill in the airport}

happy weekend
xoxo
