"oh, the places you go."

time for an announcement:
we have a little trip planned.
okay, i lie... it's kind of a big trip.
we are going to italy!
i repeat, italy.
i'll let you in on a deep secret of mine:
traveling to italy has been a big hope, dream and fantasy of mine.
in fact, lovebird originally booked our honeymoon there,
but i vetoed {quite literally, canceled} that grand plan back in the days.
shocking right?
you see, back then i wanted to enjoy being newlyweds-  we were just barely mr. and mrs.
i wanted my new hubby all to myself as we relaxed on a beach after a crazy summer of wedding planning.
now however, i'm ready for the thrill of italy.
i no longer want to sit and relax on a beach with lovebird-
but rather walk the streets of italy until our feet hurt,
eat gelato until our bellies ache,
and visit the historical museums, monuments and churches.
i want to eat pasta like lady and the tramp,
travel by train with backpacks making many stops,
and spend every waking minute laughing and exploring with lovebird.
obviously, i am still in the honeymoon/newlywed stage of life.
but, i'm completely okay with that.
what better way to spend our days being madly in love
than in the romantic cities of italy.
we are beyond excited.

so now, let the recommendations and suggestions begin:
we are looking to anything and everything!
i'd love to hear about your trips, experiences and knowledge of italy!
or if you know of any lovely italian bloggers, please leave the link below!

attracted to you.

fun and interesting fact of the day:
{and surprisingly, i learned this in my anthro class}

universally, what are the top two traits we {as humans} are attracted to?
any guesses out there before i tell you the answers?
number one: clear skin.
number two: youth.

clear skin:
are you surprised clear skin is number one?
i was... until i ended up thinking about this long and hard all day.
personally, the one thing i obsess over daily, is having clear skin.
eyes are pretty with or without makeup, hair can be thrown up into a ponytail and look gorgeous,
fashionable clothes can make you look like million bucks and perfume adds the final touch...
however, if you have a blemish on your face- you feel completely self conscious.
not to mention you feel like you are going through puberty all over again.
or you feel like when people talk to you- all they look at is that stinkin' blemish.
universally, clear skin is a sign of health.
interesting, right? but completely accurate.

p.s. think about it- how many products are out there advertising clean and beautiful skin?
foundation, powder, face wash, body wash, self tanners, lotion and the list goes on and on....

youth:
this one is a bit strange to me.
i understand why. but i'm shocked it ranked number two on the list.
youth meaning.... the average human naturally desires to look, be and feel young.
you'd have to agree with that, right? and also-
universally, most men look to "mate" with younger women.
pretty accurate. {except for those "cougars" out there}.

what is number one and two on your list?
remember, this is just the universe's list.
i'm curious to hear what you think about these two being ranked highest.

photo: inspiration to this post.
it was a perfect find after the lecture in anthro class.
she is simply beautiful. her skin is flawless.
and i'm slightly obsessing over her bun and long eyelashes.

royally beautiful

the royal wedding
took my breath away.
and maybe i did shed a tear or two. so what.
how could you not?
she was simply stunning.
i absolutely adored her dress.
{and her reception dress. wowzer!}
i'd be a princess, if it meant i could wear her gown.
and did you hear? she did her own makeup!
go kate!
as for the prince? so handsome and sweet to her.
the kiss, the vows, the cake, the hats...
everything was beyond
royally beautiful.

this will be a day to remember.
it goes down in history. literally.
i'm glad i have witnessed such a splendid thing.
congratulations william and kate!
