history buff.

{reflection of a beautiful utah sky and valley}

happy tuesday.
life never slows down, does it?
especially, when you visit home;
there are so many things to do, see and catch up on.
yesterday, lovebird and i took a trip up to the
with my brother corey and cute mother.
holy cow! it was incredible.
we were there for several hours, and i could have spent several more.
thank goodness for my geology and anthropology classes last semester-
the museum felt like one big fat review.
it was so awesome to relate everything i just learned in school to "real" life.
it was fascinating.
i slightly feel like a nerd, but i'm completely okay with that.
life is about learning.
if you are in the area {or even somewhat close}
i strongly urge you to go see this specatular museum.
it's free if you're a student, print a coupon here
or go on one of the days that admission is free. {next date: july 9th}
it's well worth the time, your money and
of course, exercising that brain of yours.

redheads have more fun.

{before and after}

first i was blonde.
for 22 years of my life, actually.
second i was a brunette.
this was a big change, obviously.
after just a couple days of getting used to it,
 i  thoroughly enjoyed the change.
then things got crazy;
i suddenly was awfully daring, adventurous, and brave.
i dared to be a redhead.
surprisingly, i love it.
it's fun, different and totally not me.
but, that's just it...
i am a redhead.
and now, it is totally me.

following the trend.

posting instragram photos is somewhat trendy.
i'm aware of that.
some may even say it's a cop out to composing a "good" blog post,
while others thrive to post there little photos on the blog.
i'm indifferent.
the bottom line:
i'm a fan of capturing life via pictures,
and i'm also a fan of blogging/posting whatever your little heart desires.

today i'm being lazy, trendy, and "coping out on a 'good' post"
{or whatever you may consider it}
to share my life, as of lately, through photos:

1. windy day= lots of layers and lots of laughs.
2. my cute cousin patsy just got engaged! yay!
3. diet coke, again. it's worth repeating.
4. a reflection of buildings in downtown salt lake city.
5. craft night {again}! vintage materials with a vintage sewing machine.
{not to mention, a mint green one. it was my mom's first one- she bought it at age 13!}
6. help me pick a good book, or two, to take with me on my trip!
7. meet boone. my favorite kid alive.
8. recent obsession: greek yogurt from tcby. go try it now. you'll instantly fall in love.

it's your turn to post your lovely pictures!
also, i'd love it if you followed along on instagram...
so in return, i can find and follow your cute life via pictures!

1. diet coke. recently with lime.
2. gladiator shoes in a carmel color. {own and love these.}
3. facetime with lovebird while we're apart.
4. essie nail polish. any bright color will do.
{i fluctuate between essie and opi; currently loving essie}
5. matinee movies, manicures, mint green, and mothers.

call me a thief.

happy wednesday.
i thought i'd share a little project on the blog today.
i don't share {or do} a lot of diy's, thanks to my busy schedule.
however, yesterday i was feeling awfully crafty-
and the leisure summertime allowed me to create something fun.
i totally stole this idea from one of my best friends,
and would link it to her blog if she had one. {hint, hint}
it's time to get your craft on,
and create a fun, inexpensive and adorable calendar!

"call me a thief":
that title relates to the fact, that i made this project for a grand total of $3.
{pretty impressive, right? so cheap and so cute!}
what you will need:
1. paint samples {usually free! i got mine at home depot}
2. a lovely picture frame! {this one was on sale at Michael's for $3}
3. dry erase marker.
4. of course you will need the essentials: scissors and glue.

instructions:
1. simply pick out your paint samples and colors. {six colors in total}
i chose to do an "ombre" look, however mixed colors are darling too!
2. trim to the size you want your boxes.
3. paste onto a solid white piece of paper the size of your frame.
4. on top of the picture frame's class, using a dry erase maker:
 label the month, days, and events you have going on that month.
5. ta-da! that's it. now, go hang it in your cute home!

so simple, and you'll feel like a thief too.
creating a project for $3 is a complete steal, if you ask me!
plus- it's a craft that keeps on giving.
all you have to do, is erase it when the month is over,
and you'll have a brand new calendar for the next month!

p.s. sorry for the low quality photo's- lovebird has our camera back home with him.
also, don't mind my ugly hand writing- i simply just jotted a few things
down to show you an example. i've obviously got some touching up to do!

dear mom:

dear mom: i love you.
a lot.

coming home to utah is always a treat.
but, spending time with my mom is an even a bigger treat.
we are best friends.
being away from her is tuff, but it isn't until i'm with her
that i really realize just how much i miss her while i'm away.
we are the same person.
i love that about us.
we have the same taste, love the same things,
buy the same treats, laugh the same way, do the same things.
we have a unique relationship.
i'm so lucky to have such a close friendship with her.
certainly, she is my mom;
she provides guidance, advice and motherly love.
but, she is my best friend.
i tell her my deepest secrets, and she tells me hers.
we have a whole week of just us.
{lovebird is still home working and taking his finals.}
we can finally go to lunch together, run errands together,
shop until we drop {which we already have done}, sit on the couch and chitchat,
read our books together, and drink our diet cokes.
all without having miles between wishing we were closer.
it will be a week free of texting and phone calls because we'll be face to face.
it's going to be a good week.
however, any week is a good week when your with your mom.

fly me home.

i felt like i was shot out of a cannon this weekend.
i jumped on a plane {way too early in the morning},
finally landed in the beautiful city of salt. {aka: salt lake city},
raced to special events, such as ballet performances and baby blessings.
then finished the weekend off with my lovely parents on the couch.
sundays are the best, especially at home.
i hope you had a lovely weekend,
minus the feeling of being shot out of a cannon.
xoxo
