a day full of laundry will get you thinking.
thinking about clothes, of course.
more often than not, folding endless piles of clothes is tedious.
watching my dirty clothes pile grow into a mountain
is sometimes overwhelming.
having to dedicate a whole day to switching loads of laundry
is a penalty for having a busy schedule.
although, there is often times that glimpse of happiness as i hang
my favorite blouse or dress to dry.
i am reminded of my love for fashion, clothes, shopping and more clothes.
as much as i despise doing the dreaded chore of laundry,
deep down, i love nothing more, than a closet full of clean clothes.
the smell of dryer sheets and this detergent makes me melt.
slipping into a warm pair of sweat pants fresh out of the dryer is simply heavenly.
so today i am happy doing laundry.
cheers to laundry, dryer sheets, warm clothes and the beloved chore.
Oh, I know how that feels! I will go home today to a HUGE pile of clothes in my hamper but I ran out of quarters. I would probably stop by the bank to get them on my way home :)

I'm a huge dork and I actually really love doing laundry!! I love putting in the dirty clothes and having them come out all clean and smelling good :) This post totally speaks to me!
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing about doing laundry at our new apartment is sharing a laundry facility.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm looking forward to my laundry day today, too, because it's a beautiful 75 and sunny which means I get to lounge poolside while I wait! :)

Left brain, right brain, pug brain.
I am soooo not a laundry fan! It is my least favorite thing to do. However, I do love the smell of clean clothes and the feeling of accomplishment after its all finished. Adorable top!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved doing laundry ... until lately. For some crazy reason I just started hating it, which I hate. Thanks for the inspiration to love laundry again!
ReplyDeletelaundry at my house is never ending. my biggest challenge is keeping the amount of dirty clothes spilling from the hamper to the minimum.
ReplyDeleteI love those pods! They make my laundry smell so good! It's my least favorite chore, too, but it's so satisfying to have an empty laundry basket and a full closet again. And clean sheets can pretty much turn any bad day around.
ReplyDeleteOhh I love the feeling of putting on fresh, clean, warm clothes! A what a lovely little photo ;)
ReplyDeletelaundry is defintely a love-hate relationshop!! getting into warm sheets fresh out of the dryer on a winter day is the best!

I actually really love doing laundry! Haha and I totally agree about putting on a pair of sweatpants straight out of the dryer...so cozy!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind doing it, it's the folding and putting it away part that I don't like! If only someone could do it for me.. for free!!
ReplyDeletei'm with you. cheers for cute clothes!
ReplyDeletexoxo, great little day
I understand that love/hate relationship! The best part is throwing them in the wash...the worst part is taking them out and having to fold/hang!
ReplyDeleteI know that relationship! I love clothing so much, and actually don't mind doing laundry. But the folding does kill me! MY husband and I usually switch on and off with folding turns, because we both don't like it one bit!
ReplyDeletegirl, i know how you feel! my laundry is double on what actually is meant to fit in my basket. and i am overloaded with finals and studying and homework. what's a girl to do... haha xoxo
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a love/hate chore, but nothing is better than slipping into bed with freshly cleaned sheets! And, I think I may have a little addiction with dryer sheets...nothing in the world smells better to me...not even freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!

Is it weird that I don't mind laundry?
ReplyDeleteI think it's mostly because I just love the smell.
Yea, I know. I'm weird. Ha.
Folding laundry is torture to me, but even I'll admit, I love seeing everything hanging pretty & clean in my closet :)

Oh gosh, this is so me. I don't mind doing laundry but I *hate* putting it away! I hate ironing even more, I am trying to do a bunch of it weekly so everything is pre-ironed in my wardrobe so I actually WEAR EVERYTHING!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true of me too. My most dreaded part is putting it away, even if its as simple as just moving the hanger from laundry room to closet. Not fun. But you're right, I do love the smell of clean clothes, a closet full of clothes (and often organized pretty), and seeing it hanging up to dry. I used to not mind laundry. That was when I was doing it for one person. That's when I got married. Now it's a little more of chore, haha.
ReplyDeleteLaundry is the worst. I have to do several loads tomorrow and I'm not excited! One of my favorite things though is getting into bed with clean, pretty smelling sheets!! It brings a smile to my face. So doing laundry ends up being all worth it.

Laundry is my least favorite chore!! I don't mind the washing/drying and snuggling in warm, clean clothes..I cannot stand the folding and putting it all away - that's what get me. Definitely a love/hate relationship.
ReplyDeleteLove the smell, touch, look of clean clothes! And I might be one of those weirdos...but I actually LIKE to do laundry, AND fold it!! I guess my man is pretty lucky because of this ;)
ReplyDeleteAt least you can see the positives about a least-loved chore!
clean clothes i adore! :-)
ReplyDeleteit is my life dream to have a clothesline. but first i need to live somewhere without rampant cats and/or homeless people who rummage through the garbage bin at night.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! It's too adorable! :) Hope every love story is like yours! ;)

I haaaate doing laundry! It's the one chore I simply hate doing. However, it's not so bad if I do it while watching a movie or something. I also love using those washer beads, have you heard of those? They're little beads that you throw in the washer with the clothes (along with your lovely detergent) and it makes them smell good for weeks, no joke.
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog today and it's adorable! I must follow:)

I completely agree.....Happy Friday!
