30 days of thanks.

give thanks.

{and lots of it}

this month i did the 30 days of thanksgiving challenge. 

{remember this? did you join in on it?}

taking a picture {or two} of something each day that i was thankful for, 

made me feel so very blessed. 

it was a fun 'challenge', that turned out to be anything but a challenge,

because i realized i am surrounded by things i am thankful for.

the challenging part, was picking just one thing for that day. 

{that explains why i have more than 30 pictures above, ops!}

i'm thankful for:

movement, our humble abode, my missionary/brother, marriage

learning, being able to vote, a handsome husband

rainstorms, friendship, earth's colors, mowgli,

fresh flowers, all things fall, my primary kiddos, 

surprise mail {a box of chocolate}, puppy play time, school's campus,

homemade dinners, date nights, being a girl, little william,

being in love, us, holiday packages from midge,

decorating, family outings, our thanksgiving feast,

the season of fall, polka dots + stars and top knots + red lipstick.

i'm afraid to say, i think i could add a dozen more things to the list.

so happy i did this challenge; can't wait to do it again next november.

learning little lessons.

a {small} list of a few things i've learned in the last week:
1. lovebird loves pumpkin pie more than i do. i didn't think that was possible.
2. although i wear little of it, i'm obsessed with makeup.
3. my extreme phobia of throwing up, isn't any less when dealing with puppy vomit. bummer.
4. if you're looking to boost your self esteem, don't put on a leotard and tights after a four day weekend of pigging out on mash potatoes, pie and well... basically anything in sight.
5. yellow is a gorgeous fall color and makes me feel spoiled when walking around campus. {picture}
6. i am still capable of staying up past midnight and proved myself this weekend. however, i'll take a bedtime of no later than 10pm any day of the week. i am one who only functions with antiquate sleep.
7. i'm very eager for a change. a big change.
8. the vacuum and i are becoming best friends. thanks to mowgli's ability to shed an insane amount.
9. i have finally learned to accept that my feet will never grow num or callus enough to void out the the pain of pointe shoes. pain is beauty; or at least that's what i'm told.
10. i fall in love over and over again, each and every day. biggest blessing of life.

posting instragram photos is somewhat trendy.

i'm aware of that.

some may even say it's a cop out to composing a "good" blog post,

while others thrive to post there little photos on the blog.

i'm indifferent. 

the bottom line:

i'm a fan of capturing life via pictures,

and i'm also a fan of blogging/posting whatever your little heart desires. 

today i'm being lazy, trendy, and "coping out on a 'good' post"

{or whatever you may consider it}

1. windy day= lots of layers and lots of laughs.

2. my cute cousin patsy just got engaged! yay!

3. diet coke, again. it's worth repeating.

4. a reflection of buildings in downtown salt lake city.

5. craft night {again}! vintage materials with a vintage sewing machine.

{not to mention, a mint green one. it was my mom's first one- she bought it at age 13!}

6. help me pick a good book, or two, to take with me on my trip!

7. meet boone. my favorite kid alive. 

8. recent obsession: greek yogurt from tcby. go try it now. you'll instantly fall in love.

snapshots.

 well, hello there.

since life never gets the hint to slow down,

i thought i'd try to catch you up on our little life via  the quick 

snapshots of our crazy life as of late.

1. jean shirt and ray bans. never can go wrong with either.

2. raisin bread toast. an instant reminder of my grandma duffin. 

3. current read: between shades of gray.

{a quick read; certainly worth it. it's so beautifully written.}

i'm carried away in it's pages. find it here. 

4. mid air- just proving to my brothers who the real athlete is.

{obviously, a family inside joke}

5. one of our local organic markets. simply heavenly.

6. my graffiti on a chalkboard table. doodling is arguably my favorite hobby.

7. finally let lovebird take me to see the avengers.

i'll admit, i should have gone sooner. it was quite good.

8. i've been craving poolside time lately.

summer feels like it's begun, even though i still have two finals next week.

my mom's visit through the eyes of my instragram. 

 the week with my mom went a little like this:

{in no paticular order}

1.the two of us in our matching ray bans. 

thank goodness we live in two different states. 

2.ranuculous flowers. simply my favorite.

thank you walnut creek, for planting them everywhere.

3.mini diet cokes. or rather the perfect size.

what could be better? 

4.just my mom, "being a little midge."

inside joke between our little family.

5.mac lip stick. i could never have too many shades.

6.a delicious pick me up during our eight hour shopping streak.

7.yesterday's books: a used bookstore here in town.

aka: my mom's second home on earth. {arguably her favorite home.}

8.we were on a quite the search for the "perfect" purse this week. 

i fell in love with this one. {my birthday is coming up. hint hint.}

9.not-even-a-day-old kitty.

i about died. if only i could convince lovebird we needed him. 

10.the most delicious artichokes for easter dinner.

as sick as he was, even lovebird snarfed one down. they were that good. 

well, that's a wrap.

it was a lovely trip and now it's back to reality...

a little catch up of life through pictures:

 1. just a karaoke machine in our friends home. no big deal. they're that cool.

3. a heart cup from starbucks full of nothing but a warm drink of love. 

{i tell you- starbucks is creative with their cups. they know how to lure customers in around the holidays}

4. just a tiny obsession of mine at the moment. bright lips. 

5. trying to figure out how to eat a somewhat healthy dinner on the go.

i wish i could have lived in the "olden days"- where everyone ate dinner at home promptly at 6:00.

life is simply too busy nowadays. is that a sad thing to admit?

6. girl friends at the gallo center. the moscow ballet came into town to perform sleeping beauty.

7. my ideal math homework. obviously, i needed a break from the "real" stuff.

11. little {homemade} cheese cake bites. 

good thing we are friends with a food connoisseur and caterer to boot. 

happy thursday.

if you didn't know this already, thursday is my favorite day of the week.

i'm not exactly sure why that is. it just is, and always has been.

and this semester, it just happens to be my one day off!
