be a bird.

happy sunday.
may you be that patient bird today
and have an exotic adventure.

ours will be spent with dear friends eating delicious food laughing the night away.
there is bound to be a silly adventure somewhere in that plan.

i hope you are having a lovely weekend.

combat boots and turquoise rings.

hello to you.
and hello to another new week.
mondays seem to keep rolling around.
i just said to lovebird last night,
"isn't it strange how the days of the week go so slow,
but come every sunday night, i'm shocked that another monday
is already knocking at our door?"
time is a mysterious element in our lives. or at least i think so.
i hope you had a lovely weekend.
we certainly did:
my first letter from little brother came in the mail.
{i literally leaped with excitement.}
we add a yummy bbq with our awesome friends.
{delicious cheeseburgers with bbq sauce. and of course i brought salt and vinegar chips.}
we went to church. that's a given.
it was ward conference- and it was a lovely day to say the least.
lovebird called me a gypsy due to the amount of turquoise rings i was wearing.
what can i say, i love turquoise. and jewelry.
i sported the combat boots with the dress.
i guess you could say, i was a feminine yet edgy gypsy.
i'll take it.
{i like to spice up life with different outfits and styles. }
i can't wait to catch up on reading your weekend posts.
i suppose i'll do that after class, while drinking my new addiction: hansen's soda.
xoxo

p.s. i'm thinking about doing a button exchange!

a little clip.

while most are busy watching the "big game", i'm busy watching this.
i hope you can find time in your super bowl sunday to
watch this beautifully, strange, incredible, breathtaking and unique video.
yes, it's a ballet video. but even if your not a bun head, i bet you'll appreciate it.
she {alina cojocaru} is the epitome of a ballerina.
she simply inspires me every single time i see a clip of her dancing.
she is breathtakingly beautiful.
if only i could share the dozens of clips i've "bookmarked" of her.
happy sunday.
i'm spending my sunday doing homework, meeting up with friends to do a little dinner, watching maybe a second of the game, eating left over treats and laying on the couch in lovebird's pi's.
i have lots to tell you from our busy weekend of parties!
but homework must come first this time.
xoxo.

turn life off.

life is full of distractions.
tons of them. big and small.
i'm not a big tv fan. in fact joel and i rarely, if ever, watch it.
however, the computer seems to be a big distraction for me.
i could spend days on pinterest and reading blogs.
i'm going to take heed to this quote and settle in for the night reading.
thanks to my little midge who sent me a thanksgiving package...
i have a new book that anxiously awaits to be read.
title: two from galilee.
she says it is a lovely book. especially when read around the holidays.
if you are in need of a good quick read- go pick it up!
{my mom knows her books. she reads one a day. quite literally.}
we can have a mini book club online.
happy sunday friends.
xoxo

coat closet

i'm going to let you in on a something a little personal.
we have a coat closet. a coat closet that barely shuts.
why? because lovebird has so many jackets.
of course his answer would be that i have too many jackets.
i've been asking him for weeks to go through his jackets and throw some out.
he still hasn't done it. so....
today upon total frustration{or rather curiosity to see how many coats he has},
i simply asked him for the hundredth time if he'd done what i'd ask.
he said no... and next thing i know we both went racing for the closet.
as we fought for control of the closet we settled on counting our jackets first
to see who needed to get rid of some.
i'd be ashamed if i told you the number of jackets we own.
we could clothe several families. which i feel guilty about.
i blame it on the fact that we lived in utah and needed heavy coats,
and now we live in california and need light weight jackets.
heavy coats + light weight jackets= more than enough.

plus, there's a jacket for every occasion, right?
a sweatshirt {or five} to simply hang out it.
a heavy down coat for snowy blizzards.
a jacket to wear on a cool fall day.
a blazer to wear as a fashion statement.
a fleece for comfort and warmth.
a fancy number to wear to the ballet or to church.
an old fashioned pea coat. mandatory.
something knitted.
a pull over.
a few little-bit-nicer than a sweat shirts.

help us please.
we've counted, sorted, thrown away and settled on the fact
we won't be buying a jacket for quite sometime.
unless, of course, santa {aka midge} brings us one that's irresistible.

p.s. lovebird absolutely loves when i wear his jackets.
especially when i wear them to dance.
and yes, i am being completely sarcastic.

low key

yup, because that's what we do on sundays.
put on our sweats.
do homework all day.
and watch father and the bride.
because i learned tonight, that lovebird had never seen it.
{i was shocked.}
hope your sunday was as relaxing as ours.
dreading another week- but it's coming whether i like it or not...
so here we go.
bring it on monday.

seventh day of the week.

sunday has arrived and is already half way over.
sundays are simply the best.
a day full of spiritual thoughts, cuddles with lovebird and yummy dinners.
i played the piano in sacrament meeting today.
i was a nervous wreck.
cold hands, sweating, and shaking feet.
it is now over. it went well. and i am happy.
{not happy that its over, but happy that it went well.}
lovebird would have high five-d me had we not been at church.
instead he gave me a big kiss and pat on the back.
today has been a lovely day.
minus this bloody cold i'm fighting.
it is awful being sick. any day of the week.
im in lovebirds pj's, laying low with a box of kleenex.
oh well.
happy sunday friends.

Q & A

finish the sentence:

it's sunday...
a. again.
b. already.
c. really?
d. thank goodness.
e.no way.
f. why?
g. awesome!
my answer would be: all of the above.

i'm feeling a little strange today.
for starters, i can't believe another week has already come and gone.
why is time passing so quickly? please slow down.
sundays tend to get me down, simply because i know a new week is coming.
however, that being said...
i love sundays because...
they are my one and only day of the week to rest.
i get to sit with lovebird on the couch all day long and not feel lazy.
i get to go to church. so calming and peaceful.
i get to eat, rather stuff my face, hourly.
and i tend to think of my family the most on sundays.
why?
probably because i want to be a sunday dinner, listen to dad snore as he takes his sunday nap, craft and laugh with mom, drive around gorgeous mountains and neighborhoods, tickle the boy's backs,
lay on the front lawn and 'play' with crew.
today i miss crew.
i've been thinking about him a lot lately, especially today while at church.
he is who inspired this post. yes, this random post.
but nonetheless, he is an inspiration to me. he's my "favorite brother", and my best friend.
i love you, crew. and i love sundays.
which one do i love more? that's hard to say.
j's and k's.
