hello. happy friday.

it's been a busy one over in this neck of the woods.

my biggest brother is in town, which leaves no time for blogging.

only time for: movies, eating (far too much), trips to san fran, and....

hanging our patio lights. 

{since lovebird is a gimp at the moment, a brother's help was well needed}

 i hope you had a lovely day.

i'm off to bed early tonight, resting up for a long day spent in the city.

farmers markets, golden gate park, thrift stores, yummy food, lots of walking,

pictures, paying too much for parking, union square,

more walking, and fisherman's wharf...

here we come!

twenty two

happy birthday to... me.

i was spoiled rotten this year. 

i am so thankful for all of my fun little gifts.

clothes, being with my mom, scones, shoes and more shoes, 

new curling iron, spa days, a bird day planner, makeup, and the list goes on.

however, one of my favorite birthday gifts was "from" my

sweet father-in-law. check it out.... 

he gave me a little chunk of money, and my mind ran wild.

i bought us new patio furniture!

and of course a handful of pillows.

never can have too many pillows. right jim?

it was a great year. and i'm happy to live the next one.

cheers to being the big 22.

thanks to all of you gift givers and happy birthday wishers.

well, it the week we've all been waiting for.

okay, more so the week lovebird has been desperately waiting it's arrival.

he finally 'went under' the big knife and had his surgery on his ACL.

may 17, 2011.

what a day.

for me, it was... 

a day of waiting with diet cokes, hospital blankets, and pretzels.

a day of patience, nerves and gratitude that my mom was with me. 

for him, it was...

a day that was well anticipated and well needed.

a day of pain pills, loopiness, a cold table, a lack of remembrance,

crutches, doctors, nurses and a breathing "toy".

all went well with the surgery.

and i'm here to tell you, he is off to a speedy recovery already.

our summer may be less active than we'd like,

but that won't stop us from having fun.

we are looking for days on our patio, sitting by our pool,

reading book upon book and road trips home.

and a big thanks to midge for being her for the week.
we couldn't have done it without her. 
it was one of the happiest weeks of my life.
i'm so lucky to have such an awesome mother.

guess what was delivered to our little home today?

drum roll please.......

 our very own piano.  yipee!!

i'm overly excited and thrilled that i have a piano

in my own little home. 

growing up with two in my house, i was quite spoiled.

and not having one in my home made it feel like something was missing.

not anymore. thank goodness. 

as lovebird says, i'll certainly be "tickling the ivory"

quite often. 

you are welcome to come over and play it anytime.

also, pass on the word....

i'll be starting to teach piano lessons this summer!

during "theater week".

so many shoes, too many hours, color days, dressing room memories,

sore feet and bodies, fun times and long nights,

notes, make-up and dress rehearsal after dress rehearsal

crammed into one week.

sound intriguing? 

probably not to many of you.

but...

this is what happens when i am in the other 

room chatting my little heart away on the phone...

lovebird manages to entertain himself by constructing

a tower made of my collection of matchboxes. 

i was speechless.

followed by a burst of laughter.

then i quickly grabbed our camera to document such a moment

of complete nothingness. 

what would i ever do without these moments?

hello ladies and gents.

today was one of those days at work. 

ya know, the ones where the phones ring off the hook,

people walk in the front door every five seconds and the 

mail carrier brings you something that looks a little like this.....

not so little. is it?

i opened and sorted the hundred envelopes full of mail.

and that basically took up my shift at work today. 

however, i'm not complaining...

it's friday and the weekend has begun! 

i hope you all have fun weekend plans.

because i don't.

nope. 

i'll be dancing for hours on end. 

so please, live it up for me.

oh! and a big congratulations to

all of my lovely friends graduating! 

i'm genuinely proud of you.  

lip gloss & the number nine

guess what?!

lovebird got the hint from yesterday....

and surprised me with the lip gloss i wanted from mac.

it's certainly a happy day. 

and another "guess what?"

it's our nine month anniversary today!

ironic that my new lip gloss is called

"i ♥ you"

happy hump day.

i hope you are spoiled with love like i am. 

wish list

alright folks...

i've got spring fever. 

in a good way, of course.

i am craving spring fashion, healthy food and days at the pool.

for starters, i want these two items. badly. 

white jeans and nude pumps.

and the list goes on. {drum roll please....}

new curling iron. a big "fat" one.

a few fresh nail polish colors. pastel please.

speaking of which, i'm dying to get my nails done.

this lip gloss.

i'm on a craze for eating salads right now.

bring on the green leafs!

{this is so not like me.}

more shoes.... wedges to be specific. 

a new crisp white shirt. 

leotards. any color will do.

and a hair cut. again.

oh how i love spring.

these are just a few of the many items i want.

thank goodness for birthdays.

i'm not expecting anything from him of course.

come & gone

this post is way past due. 

but i've got to post about it. 

since time seems to moving too fast lately,

let's hop back to our first easter together...

our fun easter consisted of:

dying eggs, easter baskets and easter trees, eating candy until
our bellies hurt, and

  going over to the miners for a delicious easter dinner. 

what a lovely first easter it was. 

and then... 

lovebird's birthday!

he is officially a quarter of a century old. {yikes!}

 his birthday was nearly perfect.

{minus the fact i had to work all day long.}

he asked for raspberry cheesecake- so he got it. 

along with a massage, skittles, men's health, clothes, flip flops

and money. what a spoiled lucky boy. 

lovebird is happy that we have our own and new easter traditions.

and i am happy lovebird is growing up.

this time of year is always a blast.
