three little pumpkins sitting in a row.

happy halloween
this is arguably one of my favorite holidays.
i love everything about it.
from pumpkin flavored anything/everything, to dressing up,
to trick-or-treating, to candy galore, to spooky decorations,
to the perfect fall weather, to haunted houses, to cuddling indoors.
the list goes, on and on.
{lovebird insisted on a baby, mama & papa pumpkin this year.}

currently:
i couldn't stray from tradition, so i've got a pot of chili in the crockpot.
i tried a new recipe this year, due to lovebird's health kick at the moment.
with a few tweaks, of course.
also, a big pan of cornbread waiting to be plopped in the oven.
the house smells divine.
baby's been dancing around all day-
i think he/she can smell the goodness too.
and quite possibly since my deep love for this holiday.

thank goodness my mother raised me loving halloween.
she is halloween's number one fan.
she taught me well.
oh, and thanks to her hand-me-downs, my house is decked out.
it saddens me to hear of people who hate halloween...
how dare they!?!

so, i too, hope you'll be enjoying a bowl of chili and
a slice of cornbread this evening.
tonight is halloween; and i couldn't be happier.
have a spooky night.

halloween.

happy halloween.
{"boo! did i scare you?"}

i hope your halloween is filled with
candy, costumes, trick-or-treaters, pumpkins,
a big bowl of chili, ghosts, spooky stories,
jack-o-lanterns and anything dipped or covered in carmel.
i love this holiday- a little too much.
{my mother must of rubbed off on me- she's obsessed.}
not necessarily the crazy costumes, makeup and dressing up part of this holiday-
but rather, the spooky crisp air, kids in their costumes,
extra candy laying around the house, home decor, and anything pumpkin-y.
due to my life as a ballerina, my halloween night will be spent rehearsing the nutcracker.
kind of contradicting, wouldn't you say?
so, i'm counting on you to live up one of my favorite holidays for me;
eat extra candy, knock on extra doors, jump out and scare someone,
help yourself to that second helping of chili {and cornbread},
and carve an extra pumpkin just for me.
{thank you!}

have a spooktacular day.
xoxo

"boo! did i scare you?"

happy halloween.
i love this holiday. period.
the mounds of candy, the flavor pumpkin, little kids in costumes,
trick-or-treating and jack-o-lanterns.
big fat pumpkins, fall weather, witches, the color black.
a bowl of chili {family tradition}
hot chocolate, skeletons, pumpkin patches, spooky-ness, candy corns,
the eeriness in the air, pumpkin baked goods and my memories of this holiday.
hope you have a spooky halloween.
be safe, eat lots of candy, and stay warm.
oh, you're welcome to come over for a yummy bowl of chili if you'd like.
thank you october 31st for being one of the best holidays.

a little halloween pet peeve of mine:
please don't use this holiday as an excuse to dress like a slut.
i've always wondered why girls do that.
believe me, you're not cute with a skirt too short and
a top that shows too much.
cover yourself, and dress up properly.
save us all and let us enjoy the holiday too.

halloween

we took a trip to the pumpkin patch
on the most perfect fall day.

we looked at SO many pumpkins.
some with warts some with multi colors.
and some BIG and some small.

these were the lucky two.
little did they know their guts would be
ripped out and...

that they would turn into these two
jack-o-lanterns.

{mine is on the left, lovebird's is on the right}

it was a spook-taculor halloween.
couldn't have been better.
we enjoyed it with a scrumptious bowl
of homemade chili and cornbread;
{carrying on the "carlson" family tradition. yum!}
the house was decorated with
ghosts, spiders and witches galore.
The air smelt of fall time and brought with it a
crisp, cool breeze.
the warmth of the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
snuck out of the oven and filled our home.
and 'thriller' played in the background, as we cozied up
and snuggled the night away.

hope your halloween was a real treat.
