emotions.

{source unknown, sorry!}

emotions:
life has been full of emotions lately;
each one seeming to be so exaggerated.
i'm not a dramatic person, nor do i want to be one.
but, my emotions have secretly warped me
into this dramatic person all of a sudden.
a different dramatic: dramatic with myself, not with others.

some mornings i cry on my couch as i think about certain struggles.
however, five minutes later i find myself crying tears of happiness
as i realize just how beautiful my life really is.
lately, i seem to get easily annoyed by lovebird's daily teasing,
but in the next minute- i'm begging for those flirtatious
teases, because they make me so giddy.
confusion and a tad bit of fear, seem to have made a home in my head.
however, at the exact same time, my gut assures me that
 i've never been more certain.
some times, the normal tasks in life seem like chores,
because i feel unmotivated.
but, other times i am bursting with purpose and determination
 to succeed in the simple tasks of life, because there is great joy in doing so.
some days i call my mother to vent for hours,
other days i want nothing more, than to remain silent
lately, the future and the unknown have been beyond intriguing and exciting.
i'm happy and hopeful to see the coming months unwind.
although, that unknown factor leaves me quite anxious,
as i am reminded that uncertainty can leave me feeling scared

the only emotion that remains constant and
is always exaggerated is love.
that's when i remember that no matter the emotional day i experience,
whether for the good or for the bad,
i have someone to love and that someone loves me back.
this fact alone has saved me from all those unwanted emotions.

my urge to fight this exaggeration in my emotions has suddenly dwindled.
why? because letting them run wild in my head has been eye opening for my heart.
i've come to see so many things and made big decisions.
i've realized emotions are very real.
they are telling, unavoidable and informational.
they make an appearance without you asking them to,
and that's how you know they come from the heart.
call me dramatic if you please-
but, dramatic or not, i'm embracing this exaggeration in emotions,
because they surely are giving me a ride on life's biggest roller coaster.
and that ride is quite a thrill.
life is quite a thrill.

some days.....

{source. lyrics from this song.}

some days...
some days you just don't have time to blog.
today is one of those days; and that's because,
some days you need to go to bed or you need to wake up early;
which is a result of
some days being too overwhelming, busy, jam packed or exhausting.
you come home ready to throw in the towel, when
some days you realize life is a gift.
some days are better than others.
some days are longer than others.
some days are harder than others... and
some days you just need a chocolate chip cookie.
let's face it- we all have those days,
where we just don't get to everything we want to, because
some days simply aren't long enough to accomplish every single thing
our heart desires. which is why,
some days every day i'm thankful that lovebird reminds me
that as long as i'm giving it my all, there will be no regret.
some days i want to disagree with him- and prove i can do it all.
but, then i am humbled and remember that
some days, and only some days he is right. {well, at least about this. ;)}
and that is why, at the close of
every day, i can crawl into bed with him and thank him for loving me endlessly.
regardless, of the "some day" i just went through.

every day is a gift.
use it wisely.
xoxo

monday.

dear monday:
i am off to a late start.
sometimes i just can't get going in the mornings.
i'm hoping i stay on top {or ahead} of the rest of the day-
because i have a looooooong day ahead of me.
sometimes i love mondays, sometimes i hate them.
today, i'm smack dab in the middle.
mondays are always unpredictable-
sometimes i feel motivated, sometimes i am still tired from the weekend.
today, i am smack dab in the middle.
i'm thinking this is why i was off to a late start.
oh well, this monday will be lived to the fullest regardless of the late start.
no time to waste- those new years resolutions are kicking me in the butt.
so, monday- please be good to me and i'll be good to you.
xoxo

coming to terms.

coming to terms with:
1. bathrobes:
i seem to collect bathrobes all of a sudden.
i do tend to live in them whenever i am home, but still... i find this a little weird.
2. chocolate for breakfast?
{i've actually never done that, believe it or not.}
i will never skip breakfast or having a piece of chocolate at some point in the day.
both are too good to skip; and by good, i mean, good for the heart. right?
3. bucket list item:
i may be going on a crazy adventure this weekend. i'm slightly really nervous.
4. stress and school go hand in hand:
school is stressful no matter how "easy" your classes are.
i'm referring to my supposedly easy music and health class;
both of which i'm panicing about.
5. ginger:
the cure to all of my stomach issues as of late.
not joking... got a belly ache? try candied ginger or a classic ginger ale.
 6. being a ballerina:
i have finally come to terms with the fact that my body will never not be sore.
i figure, if i embrace that fact now, the pain may be slightly more tolerable.
7. phone calls:
i call the ones i love at least twice a day.
if he's lucky, lovebird may even get up to five phone calls per day.
midge may even be tied for first place too.
8. penny saver:
okay, i'm not really a penny saver; i enjoy spending a little too much.
however, i am a deal junkie.
i participate in every deal going on at the grocery store, even if lovebird
tells me i didn't end up saving a single penny in the long run.
those promotions are just too tempting, i tell you!

a bit of randomness today,
but, we all come to terms with ourselves here and there;
in doing so, we become the very best version of ourself.

it's the only way to be the best you.

choose carefully.

true, true, true.
i'm amazed at all the sayings and habits of lovebird's i have picked up.
almost every day, especially lately, lovebird makes a remark about how
"i'm turning into him".
i can't believe i am admitting to this;
because usually my comeback to him is, "no, you are turning into me".

when i came across this quote, i realized the truth behind this quote.
do you ever find yourself saying the things your girlfriends say?
or if you have been around your mom, do you come home "sounding" like her?
after being around little ones, do you catch onto their silly sayings?
or do you notice that one of your friends reminds you of another one of your friends?

choose carefully.
surrounding yourself with the right people is essential for
bettering yourself, acheiving happiness and molding yourself.

not to get motivational on you or anything,
just sharing my thoughts and the realization that i might by turning into lovebird.
but, i'm okay with that.
i married the man after all.

any thoughts on this? do share.
have a lovely tuesday.

a pile of randoms.

five things you should know:

1. a spray bottle cures everything. especially wrinkles when traveling. but heck, we use it for wrinkles even when we're not traveling.
2. i have no self control when it comes to tortilla chips with a hint of lime. none, i tell you.
3. if you haven't worn something in over a year, it's time to get rid of it. no "but, i know i'll wear it..."- you won't. this is extremely hard for me. i swear my closet just got ten pounds lighter.
4. humidity is your best friend and your worst enemy. friend: dewey and moisturized skin, especially after coming home from italy and realizing just how dry it is here. enemy: sweating constantly making you feel ugly as your clothes stick to you reminding you that the heat is a bit too much.
5. life should be lived reading. books are full of more than just stories. read, read read. it changes your life.

let's hear something i should know. come on- tell me something good.

oh yeah, one last thing: i have red hair, just in case you forgot;
because to be honest, sometimes i forget until i look in the mirror.
life is full of randoms, but that's what makes it good.

hello, busy.

did spring bring an extra amount of busyness to anyone else?
i feel like i am treading to keep my head above water.
i have "to-do lists" coming out of every pocket, purse and calendar.
i have chores piling up due to lack of being able to get them done.
homework is stacking up by the minute.
rehearsals at dance are never-ending. we are in crunch time.
spring is busy.
are you with me?
i am suddenly learning to manage my time differently.
i'm discovering what needs to be my priority rather than
choosing what i think should be a priority.
i'm accepting the fact that i have to let go of being a perfectionist
in order to get everything done.
{i struggle with this one}
i'm watching time pass as if it never happened;
where do all the hours of the day go?
but through all of this busyness,
i am taking time to smell the flowers, quite literally.
it is a gorgeous time of year in it's entirety.
the hustle and bustle of spring time paired with
the breathtaking beauty of nature.
spring is beautiful even when busy.
and that is something i need to be reminded of as i feel busyness overcome me.
spring is such a beautiful season, that is over in the blink of an eye.
 let's embrace it's beauty.
even if that means embracing the busyness of it too.

p.s. today is the last day to enter this giveaway!!
winner will be announced tomorrow.

tag, i'm it.

eleven little things about me.
{it's time to get personal. hope you don't mind}

1.my biggest regret in life is turning down the invite and opportunity of living in new york
city year round to dance for joffrey ballet school.
2.favorites and obsessions: the color green, jude law, anything chocolate,
pillows, handwriting, and peanut butter.
3. i wish i were better at saying my prayers on my knees multiple times a day.
4. i am confident; yet extremely sensitive.
people's impressions of me matter more than they should.
5. i am in love.
love is the most beautiful thing in this world.
6. i am the epitome of a girl:
i love and adore lip stick, nail polish, jewelry, perfume and shoes.
7. biggest fear in life: throwing up.
8. i can't fall asleep without my pink blanket and knowing what time it is.
it's a comfort thing.
{yes, i am an adult. no, it is not my baby blanket.}
if i don't have access to the time, i'll get out of bed and find a clock.
9. i am a germ freak. period.
i wash my hands at least 12 times a day.
i refuse to touch my food if my hands are "dirty."
germs are an obsession in my head.
it drives lovebird crazy, sometimes.
10. my main "goal" in life  is to have a family of my own one day.
why? because my own family means the world to me.
life would be incomplete and empty without them.
11. i'm a ballerina.
the ability to express myself through movement is captivating to me.
it's a true passion of mine, and always will be.

i've been tagged.
now it is your turn.

i'm "suppose" to tag 11 people.
but, i'm bending the rules. just slightly.
if you are a follower and want to participate-
do it!
let me know, so i can read your cute list of 11 facts about yourself!

relax a little.

happy wednesday.
or hump day, depending on how your day is going.
i posted a little quote to help the week go by quicker.
this quote rings so true.
do you ever find your self relaxing when you are extremely busy?
no. it's definitely rare.
however, when you seem to have a break from the business of life,
all you do is relax and veg.
i'm going to try to remember to take time to relax even if it's for 20 minutes of the day.
school is about to begin, which always makes for a crazy schedule
on top of the {too} crazy one i already have.
i have a feeling a little relaxation will train my body to enjoy being busy.
does that even make sense?
i sure hope so.
i guess it's apparent i'm having a hump day.
carry on.

boys will be boys.

let's talk about boys.
yes, some of them still have cooties...
but for the most we can see past those cooties of theirs.

first guy on the list: zac efron.
i've never been a die heart fan of him. in fact, i haven't really
ever been googly eyed over him. until....
i went and saw new year's eve in the theaters.
he is a complete stud in that movie.
he's got the looks and the personality going on in that movie.
well done, zac.

next guy on the list: our future president.
that is assuming he will be a boy.
what do you think?
are you following politics right now?
i'm a little torn and confused right now.

third guy on the list: jude law.
let's face it... he will be on every "boy" list of mine.
he's my crush, obsession, and i like to think of myself as his biggest fan.

next guy: josh hutcherson
casted as peeta in the hunger games movie.
is he a perfect match?
quite possibly.
are you in love with him?
i'm still sitting on the fence about this one.

fifth guy: lovebird.
if we were numbering in order of importance he'd be number one on the list.
but, i'm not. i'm numbering in random order to throw you all for a loop.
lovebird is simply my everything;
my love and my happiness in life.
he completes me. the end

up next on the list: the bachelor.
don't pretend like you don't watch the show;
we all know you've seen a glimpse of it.
ben is a cutie.
i hope his heart isn't shattered again.
{i actualy haven't watched this season, yet. shame on me.}

next guy up for discussion: your first "true" love.
do you ever think about him?
do you ever wonder where he is in life?
the last time you were with him was at sixth grade graduation, right?
or maybe you were swinging on the monkey bars right before you
pinky promised to love each other forever.
or maybe he came along in high school;
and maybe you've watched his life unfold from a distance.
first loves are first loves- you will always love him.

and lastly: your daddy.
daddy daughter relationships are irreplaceable.
my dad takes the cake on this list of "boys". {shh! don't tell lovebird}
dad's are special.
and maybe that's because they warn you about boys and their cooties.
they are always looking out for your best interest.
they never break your heart, but rather mend and support it.
love for dad's are infinite.
i'm lucky to have the one i do.

i'm curious to see your opinions about this list of boys.
or by all means, please add to the list.
remember: boys with cooties aren't allowed.

{p.s. i only included three pictures- due to not wanting this to turn into a lengthy post.}

this one takes the cake.

it's time to let you in on another little secret:
the honest truth: i can't buy the "good" or expensive stuff
  at the rate we lovebird goes through shower gel.
so leaving those luscious bath and body work scents behind,
we've resulted in trying a billion different kinds.
you name it: target brand, aveeno, olay, walmart brand, aveda, suave, dove...
yep, we've gone through them all. and probably all of the different scents too.
last weekend, i made a quick trip to rite aid...
and came across this clearance item:

i thought, "what the heck, why not?"
brought it home, and naturally placed it in the shower.
the next morning, lovebird calls out from the shower, "why did you buy baby stuff?"
 i assured him to look closely; baby brand but "adult" stuff.
after his pickiness passed, he lathered up with what has now become our favorite.
{okay, probably more my favorite}
i'm telling you, it smells delicious and truly moisturizes.
both are key if you ask me.
lessons learned:
1. it's okay to buy "baby stuff".
 2. never judge a book by it's cover.
3. husband will devour you with kisses if you shower too close to bedtime.
{thanks to the delicious smell that last until your next shower.}

disney

i had to post this. why?
because i am always wanting to cuddle and
watch disney movies with lovebird.
is that childish? perhaps.
do i care? not one bit.
dare i say, disney movies are better than half the movies out in theaters right now.
just the other day we watched "up" for the umpteenth time.
{such and incredible, inspiring, tear jerking and hilarious movie.}
no too long ago, we jumped on the bandwagon and watched "tangled."
another great one.
however, i'm talking way old school when it comes to disney movies;
bambi, lion king, jungle book, snow white, aladdin, cinderella, toy story...
and the list goes on. they never get old.
i'm secretly looking forward to spending the day with my future-little-ones
on the couch watching the classics.
until then, lovebird and i will continue to have disney date nights.
join in on the fun. you're missing out.
{don't forget to sing along! that way you won't feel so "old".}
happy weekend friends.

great minds think alike.

what an intelligent woman.
this quote is spot on reality.
 this quote simply says it all; i can't say it better. nor will i try.
what i do know, is that i want to have a great mind.
discussing ideas rather than people.
gossip is a waste of time. it's hurtful. and serves no purpose.
have a great mind; let's discuss ideas.
like the billion different ways to tie a scarf.
or how to bake a scrumptious feast for thanksgiving.
we could discuss the speed of light. that seems to be a hot topic right now.
let's talk about our economy. both the good and the bad.
we could even chat about the techniques behind interior design.
talking about photography never gets old.
we could discuss religion.
anything, really.
anything and everything; but discussing people.

happy thursday friends.
school, ballet rehearsal and homework make up my entire day.
oh, and a fun lunch date with one of my best friends.

as of late

as of late...
i am a political enthusiast.
i dream of taking naps. but, i never actually do.
i am in a constant state of craving for cucumbers. weird, i know.
i wear gold. only gold. thanks to my new necklace.
i am a bit too stressed for my liking. rather, short of time.
i find humor in the embarrassing moments of my life. this is very rare for me.
i am constantly wishing for a cool fall breeze to come whooshing by.
i am dying to go on what i like to call, a second honeymoon.
i overdosed on buying stationary yesterday.
i find joy in practicing the piano.
i listen to NPR every second i am near a radio.
i envy long thick hair.
i dig the fall make up trends. pumpkin lips.
and i feel the need to volunteer somewhere.

summer and fall

{picture from summer}
do you feel like summer has flown by?
nearly passed by without stopping by?
said hello for a second but ran out the door?
i do. i certainly do.
wedding season is over. getting fat and being lazy is coming to an end.
wearing white and dressing in summer clothes is nearly over.
sleeping in and staying up late (for no reason) will soon be foreign.
i'm okay with it though. why?
i love fall. everything about it.
the change of weather, the smell of air, fall clothing, back to school...
and the list goes on.
i'm already craving layers of clothing, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, leather boots and homework.
although, that being said i am holding on to every ounce of summer.
am i contradicting?
probably so. oh well.

current state

i am in a state of complete bliss:
being in love with lovebird.
enjoying the last week of summer. so little to do.
anticipating school. which i am so thrilled about.
having the family that i do.
getting to dance every single day.
having incredible friends in nearby places. in far away places too.
waking up next to him every morning.
painted fingernails. always makes me smile.
having a steady income. {this economy scares me.}
cooking and eating healthy. my body is now in bliss.
looking forward to the future. and being happy with what i see.
looking down at my wedding ring.
laughter fills the spaces in life right now.
and the gospel, of course. i am blessed.

sing-a-long

a funny little thought:
it blows my mind to think that when a song comes on the radio or when i pop in a cd (yes, they still exist) that i bought ten years ago i can sing every word to every song. why is that? it's mind boggling. its funny to think i can't repeat a little quote i memorized a few days ago- but if you play a song i used to know in jr. high- i can sing every word. is it the same way for you? i mean think about just how many songs your know and could for the most part sing... a lot, right? does our brain connect better to memorizing when music is playing? or maybe it's because when you are young you tend to obsess over a song and play it a gazillion times until your parents are ready to kill you. who knows? regardless- i'm amazed at how my brain has stored and memorized so many songs; i have quite the library. this is a completely random thought- but i betcha you'll think about it next time you rock out to a song you used to sing while driving our with your groupies from high school.

i wanna be her when i grow up

if i could be her for one day. i would.
she's beyond beautiful. extremely smart. so genuine.
i can't watch enough videos of her. or stare at enough photos.
am i obsessed? definitely.

coming to a standstill

i'm feeling as though i don't have time to blog.
therefore this blog... is boring.
i'm disappointed in my own blog. how pathetic.
i think it's time for a change.
maybe a break or maybe a remodel.
which one?
also, thanks to her i am completely addicted to this website.
check it out. and then join.
this new addiction may be the reason i don't have time to blog.
just saying.
anyway... i suppose i'll post soon.
i'm trying for sooner than later.

ramble on

it's been awhile.
which is no reflection of life's boringness,
but rather it's business.
i'm finally finding a second to blog,
but what should i blog about?
maybe i'll let you in on a little secret.
no. i don't have any right now.
maybe i'll tell you joke.
but, then i won't hear if you laugh.
maybe i'll post a picture.
probably not. then that puts a theme to this post.
maybe i'll just ramble on.
yep. and i'm glad you read this far.
i promise my next post will be of an adventure.
a big one.
i already have one in mind.
hold your horses. it's coming!
i love life right now.
the simplicity, spaces and spontaneous scenarios which it holds.
