take me back, please.

take a peak at our little weekend getaway in

glacier, montana.

oh, what a lovely time we had.

full of nothing but laughter, camping, friends, huckleberry's, 

nature, celebrations, river rafting, hiking, creating memories and food.

lovebird's best friend decided to marry his beautiful bride

up in the gorgeous surroundings of montana. 

{just a mountain range away from canada}

it was quite the destination wedding.

they actually decided to tie the knot on our wedding date/anniversary.

i'm not complaining, because what better way to celebrate than 

to be out of town at your dearest friend's wedding? 

we all know what this means too- lots of future anniversary trips to come!

the wedding was simply perfect for the two of them,

our anniversary was delightful {and busy} and

the weekend was a big success full of bonding moments between our friends.

to top it off, lovebird surprised me big time with a wedding band.

my jaw slightly dropped when i saw a little box from our jeweler.

let me tell you, there's nothing like getting a diamond in the ruff.

my heart is forever captured by his romance and love.

i certainly have a keeper- and i'm holding on forever....

for many more anniversaries to come.

bon voyage!

we've been awfully busy:

attending weddings, catching up with family, playing with friends, 

eating out too much, shopping more than lovebird approves,

and getting ready for our big adventure.

it's been such a delightful vacation already, 

i'm actually in awe we still have another three weeks of vacation ahead of us.

we are counting our blessings, and feel oh-so-lucky.

we leave for italy today!

{or as lovebird calls it, "the country of love"}

we are both so eager to get there, explore the beauty, 

taste the gelato and eat homemade pasta.

but, we are most excited to just be with one another.

just the two of us.

we've been begging for time alone with one another

after such a hectic, crazy and long ballet season and school year.

that time starts in less than 24 hours...

and you better believe that we are both counting down the seconds.

{at this point, even our nine hour layover sounds delightful. i'm slightly joking.}

while we are gone, i thought i would treat you all to a little something.

since, clearly, i can't fit you all in my suitcase and take you with me.

for the next three weeks, i have some lovely bloggers featured on my blog.

i hope they keep you entrained by their beauty, fun ideas, tutorials and so much more.

it's always a treat to discover a new blog....

so enjoy them and send them some love by visiting their blogs!

italy and lovebird will carry my heart for the next little while.

i'm simply elated about that.

i'll miss you dearly while i'm away

our very first.... anniversary!

one year.

one year ago today lovebird and i were married. 

august 4 2010

what a lovely, glorious, and completely romantic day.

we are both a little in awe that a whole year has already come and gone.

we have had a blast. a perfect year, full of nothing but love.

and change. a lot of change.

i look at little old couples who have been married for 50 years,

and i can now understand how fast time flies when you are in love.

this has been the best and happiest year of my life.

i'm looking forward to many more to come.

wedding dress

call me crazy, but today i wanted to pull my wedding dress out of the depths of

my too packed closet and "dress up" in my wedding dress.

i mean isn't it unfortunate we (us girls) only get to wear it one day?

let alone, just a few hours of that day.

i have been emailed and asked to post a few pictures
from the wedding and our engagements,

but... i am working on it. i am putting together a little collage.

so, keep being patient with me, and i promise it will be up shortly.

even though i feel a little strange posting pictures of myself.

(that's just not like me.) 

on the other hand, i have no problem posting pictures 

of my dashingly handsome husband.

so here you have it, here is one of many pictures from that day i miss oh-so-much.
it happened in the blink of an eye.

i would kill to do it all over again.

you would too, if you could have seen the priceless look lovebird had

on his face when he first saw me.

i am a classy traditionalist 

and of course i didn't let him see me until the big day.

and boy, am i glad i waited. 

it is one of our favorite memories of that day. 

shall we all go pull out our wedding dresses and play dress ups?

i think so.
